Scholars of Sustenance Foundation (SOS) is the first food rescue foundation in Thailand and was established in 2016.

OUR MISSION

is to enhance the food system in the country to minimize needless loss of surplus food and improve food equity by redistributing high quality surplus food from food related businesses such as hotels, grocers, restaurants, and other suppliers to communities in need in Bangkok, Phuket,

Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and other places in the country every day.

Since 2016, Scholars of Sustenance Foundation has led food rescue operations in Thailand,

expanding from Bangkok to Phuket, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai. Their mission is to reduce food waste

FOOD RESCUE

PROGRAM

A SYSTEMATIC WAY TO DELIVER SURPLUS FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED.

Our cold-chain logistics trucks operate seven days a week to rescue surplus food from donors like hotels, supermarkets, and food manufacturers. After following safety protocols, the food is distributed to low-income communities, orphanages, shelters, and vulnerable groups.

RESCUE KITCHEN PROGRAM

Serving nutritious meals cooked from surplus ingredients for people in need

More than rescuing food, we desire to serve warm and nutritious meals to the undernourished communities especially during their trying time. The rescued surplus food and ingredients are distributed and creatively cooked right at the community kitchens across different locations. The Rescue Kitchen Program is thriving as it has been shaping extensive associations among the volunteers, neighbors, and their communities. It is truly a meal “cooked by the community, for the community” to relish and relieve.

HEALTHY SCHOOL MEAL PROGRAM

Promoting healthy and balance diet for student

We value and promote food security and nutrition for children. We feed vegetables for school lunch in hope to see more greens being added to students’ meal. As a perk, the school can save the budget for greater amount of protein. It could not be any better to see their plate with a balance meal.

The objectives of HSMP are :
-To improve children’s food security
-To improve healthy nutritious meals for meals
-To create creative recipes by educating preschool teachers, parents, and cooks

RELIEF SUPPLY BAG PROGRAM

Pack essential relief supplies for communities in urgent need. Teams will unpack, sort, repack, and load these items onto trucks for distribution.

In this program, we offer an opportunity for private companies, volunteers, and individuals to support the community by coming together to pack essential relief supplies! Teams will unpack, sort, repack, and load bags onto trucks for delivery to communities in urgent need, typically assembling a minimum of 200 and up to 1,000 bags

RESCUE FARM PROGRAM

Significantly reduce agricultural production losses from various factors, such as environmental conditions and market fluctuations, to improve the sector's efficiency and sustainability.

Our initiative is dedicated to collecting surplus produce from farmers, significantly reducing food waste while ensuring that nutritious food reaches vulnerable communities. By optimizing our food collection and distribution processes, we aim to make a meaningful impact on food security and foster sustainability across the region.

VOLUNTEER / INTERNSHIP

Share Your Passion and Skills—Join Us in Growing and Supporting Communities!

We invite passionate individuals to share their talents and time with us. Our programs and events offer rewarding opportunities to contribute and help those in need. Whether you’re volunteering or engaging in community initiatives, we have a fit for your skills and interests. Our internship program provides college students with hands-on experience in social work, focusing on food equity, social change, and community empowerment. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

REMOTE COMMUNITY
FOOD PROGRAM

Allowing the extensive levels of aids to remote areas in the country.

In other parts of Thailand, some rural residents in border provinces are food insecure, and at the same time, the lack of road infrastructure and the mountainous terrain particularly cause considerable challenges. Our military and volunteer networks render their assistance to transport and distribute food to villages and shelters in Mae Hong Son, Tak, Yala, Kanchanburi, etc. With the aid of the dedicated networks, we give so much reliance on them to achieve greater impacts on the extent in reaching the vulnerable people in remote areas.
